Veterans
All veterans of the United States Armed Forces may ride Laketran free of charge to
the Veteran’s Administration Hospital on Wade Oval in University Circle, or to the Veteran’s
Clinic in Painesville. These Dial-a-Ride trips are paid for through a cooperative
effort between the Veteran’s Services Administration (Painesville office), the Lake
County Commissioners and Laketran.

Seniors in Mentor, Mentor-on-the-Lake and Mentor Headlands
Effective January 2010, the Mentor Senior Center will pay $2.00 toward the Dial-a-Ride fare going to and from the center.
Seniors will be responsible for paying the balance of the current fare – 50 cents.
Seniors not living in one of the above Mentor-area cities: Effective January 2010, seniors NOT living in the above Mentor-area cities will be responsible for paying the full fare - $2.50

Seniors/Citizens with Disabilities in Perry/North Perry
The communities of Perry and North Perry will pay the $2.50 in-county Dial-a-Ride
fare for resident seniors/individuals with disabilities registered with these communities.
Seniors/individuals with disabilities must show their Golden Buckeye card to receive
this benefit. To register with these communities, contact Perry Administrative Offices

Seniors/Citizens with Disabilities in Wickliffe
The City of Wickliffe will pay the $2.50 in-county Dial-a-Ride fare for resident
seniors/individuals with disabilities registered with the city and must have a City of Wickliffe/Laketran ID card. Seniors/individuals
with disabilities must show their Golden Buckeye card to receive this benefit. To
register with the City of Wickliffe, contact City Hall at 440-943-7100.

Seniors/Citizens with Disabilities in Willoughby
The City of Willoughby will pay $1 toward any in-county Dial-a-Ride fare for resident
seniors/individuals with disabilities registered with the city. Seniors/individuals
with disabilities are responsible for paying the remaining $1.50 in-county fare.

The City of Willoughby will also pay up to $1 towards the fare for a Dial-a-Ride
trip going to destinations listed under Laketran’s
Cleveland Medical Service trips. Seniors/individuals with disabilities are
responsible for paying the remaining $4 of the fare.
To register with the City of Willoughby, you must go to the Willoughby Senior Center
located at 38032 Brown Ave. Open Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30PM. Call 440-951-2800 for

Medicaid Recipients
If you are a Medicaid recipient, the cost of your transportation to some Medicaid-approved
health care services may be covered by Medicaid. In these instances, the rider does
not pay a fare. Medicaid will be billed under the appropriate program through Lake
