Leadership

Leadership at Laketran has been a hallmark of the organization since its inception on December 23, 1974. Numerous community members have served on the nine-member board of trustees, bringing with them expertise from diverse fields of interest. Trustees set policy and provide governance. Laketran’s Passenger Advisory Committee allows Laketran riders to provide input regarding service, operations and policy.

Daily operations are managed by professional staff with track records of local, state and national recognition for excellence in their respective disciplines. Laketran drivers, mechanics, hostlers and customer service representatives are all represented by UAW Local 1834.
